Great to hear Pearl Jam again.  Have I been out of touch, or have they?  The controversy is, Eddie Vedder sang (paraphrased) “George Bush, leave this world alone.  George Bush, find yourself another home”, and AT&T bleeped it.  “A wakeup call”, PJ’s website called it.  Really?  Has no one notice the monolithic state of the news over the last several years?  And the weird thing is, I think a lot of this is self-censorship by the media outlets, not something forced upon them.  We are in big trouble, folks.

As an aside – maybe if people didn’t curse so much, they wouldn’t open the doors for censorship.  I don’t mean Pearl Jam – I have no idea if they curse or not – but our society in general.  Cursing has become part of everday conversation.  Why?  What does that add?  I suggest we redefine “cool” as “saying something clever” rather than “saying something crude”.
