Silences by Tillie Olsen, 1978.  A discussion of writers, particularly women writers, who don’t have the opportunity for writing because their time is absorbed by family/household/childrearing duties.  9/2007

Books – update

Lincoln’s Melancholy – Great book.  Well written.  Interesting insight into Lincoln the man.  I would like to have read more about how he developed his ideas as a writer and a leader.
Silences – Still reading it.  About half way through.  Interesting – a casual read, not a page turner.
